As part of our new organisational structure in Production and Technical, we have created a new role of Engineering and Technology Manager.
About the role:
This role forms part of the local plant management team, leading a team to support production / maintenance in finding solutions to issues, improving production processes while keeping with a daily focus on the energy consumption and the follow up of possible deviations.
The role will largely focus on the long term (CAPEX) projects and investments in conjunction with the HQ Engineering team.
This role will work with the Insulation Division Engineering Team to define and develop the technical standards of the Plant to ensure the efficient production of quality products for the Insulation Market in the UK and beyond - ensuring the long term sustainability of glass wool production at the Stirling site.
Engineering and Technology Manager - Accountabilities
Ensures health, safety and well-being of staff, developing methods to engage the wider team in improving safety standards from design conception through to standard daily practice, demonstrating that safety is our number one priority.
Leads, manages, develops and coaches team members, ensuring team delivers strong performance. Manages communication between teams, internal business partners and key stakeholders.
Monitors process stability, making adjustments where necessary. Analyses performance and develops solutions for continuous improvements in methods, procedures and machine improvements
Implements new tools (PLCs, production line, industrial equipment) and improves industrial practices and processes (using the definition of needs, mapping processes, flow optimization, etc.).
Works on Capex projects in conjunction with Central Engineering Team in HQ
Takes lead on energy management monitoring consumption and reporting on variances, coordinating plant data collection and audits for Co2 emissions and greenhouse gases
Monitors and manages department budgets
Works with the wider team including engineering, compliance, H&S, finance and HR teams contributing to projects as required

Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
Strong project management skills
Highly skilled in people management and coaching
Demonstrable continuous improvement experience
Able to initiate successful cross-functional collaboration
Strong IT skills
Passion for technical innovation
Experience with local energy management software
