HAYS Architecture & Design NI are excited to be working with a well-established specialist joinery & fit-out contractor in their search for a CAD Technician. Having built a considerable industry name for themselves, and indeed project / client portfolio, over the course of their 30+ years in operation they have carved out a serious business within the international cruise ship industry, in terms of fit-out and refurbishments. Offering an extensive range of services to a growing market - this position is a reflection of them continuing to go from strength to strength. This should appeal to Joiners with CAD experience looking to break into a rounded Design position, or indeed experienced CAD Technicians perhaps working for larger organisations who want to be part of a more streamlined and lean organisation.
Your new role
As the organisation's CAD Technician, you'll be responsible for the coordination of drawings and assembly details with the production team, prodividing effecting communication and feedback information to all relevant parties. Liaising with subcontractors, manufacturers and site installation teams where required, you'll ensure the supply chain has a full and accurate understanding of requirements on live projects. You'll respond to on-site urgent & non-urgent requirements and facilitate effective troubleshooting and problem solving needs to maximise customer satisfaction and minimise site fixing time. You'll obtain customer / architect design intent information and produce working drawings. You'll issue and administer all drawing approvals and construction issue documents for production, and prepare material cutting lists for the joinery / metal fabrication departments. You'll ensure all department documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with the required timelines, and undertake any other duties assigned to you by your line-manager.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a detail orientated individual with a passion for joinery / interiors and want to progress in your design career. You'll possess a depth of knowledge & understanding around both joinery and AutoCAD software, with the ability to multi-task and to work to tight deadlines. You'll be able to deal professionally with customers / clients, and have strong IT skills including Excel & MS Office suite.
