Salary: Please note the expected starting rates for a Customer Delivery Hub Technician will be £38,495 (Annual). Due to its nature, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Your day will see you start at the delivery hub you are based before heading out on route where your responsibilities will include:
1. Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
2. Coaching, developing, and assessing your delivery driver colleagues and giving them the knowledge they need to perform at their best and represent our brand.
3. Helping load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
4. Demonstrating great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
5. Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
6. Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to help you perform your role at your best.
7. Maintaining a safe working environment.
Please note this role involves heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Essential Skills/Experience
Previous experience of installation is required for this role and we'll assist in topping up your knowledge with our very own installer accreditation. Other required skills and experience include:
1. Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).
2. DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card) and Tachograph Card.
3. Previous experience driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle.
4. Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
5. Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face to face.
6. Good understanding of technology.
As one of our Technician Specialists, you'll have the unique opportunity of bringing our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets) as part of a 2-person delivery crew.
You'll also share your expertise to coach and develop the other delivery drivers in your team on home installations and general customer service skills, acting as a role model for the great service John Lewis is known for.
Full time (41 hours per week) working 06:00-17:00 Monday-Saturday. Or Full time (41 hours per week) working 10:30-21:30 Monday-Friday & 07:00-18:00 Saturday.
