Job Description Are you ready to join a team of talented engineers and shape the future of water infrastructure? We are looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join our growing UKI Water team. You will be a senior technical resource that will guide our junior staff and aim to proactively develop our offering to local authorities, water companies, private and public sector clients. Our work ranges from feasibility studies right through to detailed design and construction management; we also carry out research projects, contributing to national policy and guidance. Role Responsibilities: Deliver low-carbon solutions that support clients’ net-zero and biodiversity goals, positively impacting nature and communities. Lead water engineering design projects, including SUDS schemes, river restoration, canal engineering, dams, and flood alleviation schemes. Contribute to large, multidisciplinary projects such as transportation upgrades, major developments, and renewable energy initiatives. Lead and contribute to tenders for both one-off projects and large framework contracts. Mentor and support the professional development of team members. Build strong relationships with clients and across technical disciplines. Lead flood risk appraisals and business cases for public and private sector clients. Stay informed on legislative and guideline updates affecting our services. Utilize AECOM’s project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs on time and within budget. Collaborate with clients and technical teams to deliver a range of flood risk management projects (fluvial, coastal, surface water, and drainage).
