You will be part of a large programme and will be responsible for a work package within the programme and the preparation and delivery of the work package, performing cost estimates and delivering all work package activities (including those relating to risks and opportunities) in accordance with the requirements of specific bids and projects. It requires professional project management capabilities to be applied - giving rigour to change control, commercial awareness and stakeholder management. Some of the Key Responsibilities and Tasks: Undertake the activities that will ensure the successful delivery of the work packages and project. Ensure the delivery of work package outputs to meet the requirements of bids / projects relating to technical, scheduling and financial aspects. oManage the creation of the bid deliverables and ensuring review and governance, leading to the creation of a high quality proposal. oEnsure that cost estimates are effectively reviewed to ensure competitive and winning pricing Ensure that work package activities are defined, organised and planned in accordance with budget, scheduling, performance and quality of the bid / project. Control the requirements, performance, cost and schedule of the work package remit during the work package life cycle. Identify, act upon and communicate risks, issues and opportunities relating to the work packages. Ensure that the work package is closed effectively (e.g. archiving of documents, closing the expenditure authorisations, capitalising and sharing lessons learnt). Drive Quality, Cost & Delivery performance through close working with other functions. About you:- You will have experience of the successful delivery of projects and work packages within a large complex, multidisciplinary, multi - site organisation and directing project activities with reference to the baseline and critical path, with a focus on proactive risk and opportunity management and controlling variance to time/cost/quality within a complex multi-site organisation together with the following:- A thorough understanding work package management techniques - for example, but not limited to; scheduling, risk management, stakeholder management, estimating, progress reporting. Understanding of generic processes and techniques used to schedule project activities (for example; WBS, OBS, milestones, dependencies, EVM). A strong understanding of the need for governance in bid / project management and the ability to uphold governance requirements. Demand/business planning principles in a project context with a focus on the reliable forecasting of resource requirements (including critical skills) and working with adjacent functions to schedule those appropriately Representing projects through established governance, giving an evidence-based account of progress and distilling key risks/opportunities/support needed for Senior Management The ability to look ahead, identify risks and opportunities and proactively engage with them LI-ST1 In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
