The Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) is seeking a Research and Grants Coordinator to join its Research and Grants Team. The post holder will primarily provide administrative support for research to the Research and Grants Manager, who line-manages this role, while also working closely with the Post-Award Officer. This is a varied role, primarily to support the preparation and submission of bids to a wide range of funders, working to strict deadlines. The post holder will circulate call opportunities, maintaining an accessible record on the Department's intranet. While some experience in research support is preferable, the role will provide an excellent training opportunity for an administrator with transferable skills interested in a career in research administration.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Research and Grants Manager in the timely preparation and distribution of communications detailing upcoming funding opportunities, call guidance, deadlines, and application processes.
* Be familiar and keep up to date with funding opportunities and funders' terms & conditions and be able to advise members of the department on simple funding schemes.
* Support both pre- and post-award processes for small and straightforward grants, including fellowships and Oxford University funding schemes such as John Fell Fund, knowledge exchange grants, and the Higher Studies Fund.
This role is full-time and Fixed Term for 2 years, to start as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE (grade A-C) level in English and Maths, or equivalent work experience. They will also have experience of working with budgets or evidence of numeracy skills, including the ability to summarise, analyse, and understand financial data, with the ability to identify anomalies. Exceptional tact and diplomacy, along with strong communication skills (both written and oral), are essential.
