Occupational Health Nurse Specialist
As the Occupational Health Nurse Specialist you will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, evidence based, client driven Occupational Health (OH) service across the UK OH function meeting business needs in all aspects of our Occupational Health service provision.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the OH Management Team and colleagues to achieve strategic and operational objectives for the UK OH Function.
They will have the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and act within the policies and procedures of the service and ability to consult effectively with the Business.
Furthermore, they will have the ability to apply specialist knowledge in key areas of;
* Case Management assessments and outcomes
* Risk Based Health Surveillance programmes
* Health Capability Assessment programmes
* Risk Assessment and reviews
* Subject Access Requests review and processing

In this role you will be responsible for
* Delivery of a high quality, evidence based, customer focused OH service across the OH function meeting business needs in all aspects of our OH service provision.
* Ability to apply specialist knowledge in key areas such as, and not limited to: Case Management, Health Surveillance, Health Capability Assessments, Occupational Illness, Business Travel Health, and Health & Wellbeing initiatives.
* Leading and providing an effective case management service for managers and employees. Ownership and management of a clinical case load, of no more than 3-4 cases a day, providing clear opinions regarding case outcomes (including decisions regarding occupational illnesses and injuries, the appropriateness and applicability of LTD and IHR), providing concise medical reports and summarizing recommendations in accordance with evidence based best practice and aligned to GSK people policies.
* Maintaining knowledge and mandatory training to be able to deliver a safe and effective health surveillance/health capability monitoring programmes and provide associated advice to staff and managers, to support the Business to remain regulatory compliant.
* Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy (acting within the policies and procedures of the OH service) and consult effectively with the Business.
* Support quality and governance framework and collaborate as required to complete internal and external audits.
* Being part of a highly effective team taking part in audits, peer-to-peer and clinical supervision and sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to continues service development and growth.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
* Registered Nurse, and Post graduate Occupational Health qualification
* Recent experience of delivering core OH services, as well as working within a centralized service model.
* Excellent communication skills utilizing all mediums as well as influencing skills.
* Ability to demonstrate an elevated level of independent decision making.
* Customer interface - such as training/presenting relevant health data.
* Auditing clinical performance and service delivery.
* As the service is paperless there is a need for good IT skills, i.e. proficient in use of Microsoft systems (MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, office365 applications etc and previous experience of using OH software systems.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:
* Diploma/BSc degree in Occupational Health +/- safety management or related health studies
* Previous management experience desirable, but not essential.
