About the Job:
* Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions.
* May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department.
* Receives and stores incoming supplies.
* Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
* Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
* Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
* May lead and direct the work of others.
* Typically reports to a manager or supervisor.
* A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Requirements:
* Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
* Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
* Ability to read and write, prepare and interpret written instructions and make arithmetical calculations.
* Completion of a formal technician training program with satisfactory grades in all modules.
* Registered with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.
* Certification from Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB)
* Sedentary work performed in office setting. Requires constant hearing, speaking, vision and repetitive hand movement. Requires attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
