Due to the changes in the ARRS Scheme to introduce general practitioners, EQuality PCN are looking to expand our team by seeking to employ a newly qualified GP to work with our member practice and PCN staff. This position is offered on 4 sessions per week, subject to negotiation, and is a 6 month fixed term contract with a view to change subject to national DES contracting. As a newly or recently qualified GP, you will benefit from daily support from experienced GP colleagues. Main duties of the role: To perform as a general practitioner working independently and with other health care professionals to assess. Diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary care setting. Rotate through each of the PCN practices, spending dedicated blocks of time in each, allowing for full integration into the teams and the opportunity to understand the varied operational dynamics of each practice. Perform clinical and administrative work based on the SystmOne clinical system. Balancing direct patient care with involvement in broader PCN initiatives. Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues. To be professionally accountable and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care is primary. The post holder will need to be capable of independent travel across the Luton area and work flexibly to meet the needs of the business. About the Candidate All applicants should have the following qualifications and experience: Essential: Fully qualified GP with GMC registration. MRCGP. Newly Qualified General Practitioner with under 2 years from gaining their CCT. National Performers List registration (England), noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation. Not previously been substantively employed at a GP practice. Experience of working in a primary care environment. Experience of continued professional development. Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU). Evidence of current validation. Eligibility to practice in the UK independently. Desirable: Experience of medicines management. Experience of ICB initiatives. About Us EQuality PCN is made up of 4 GP Practices with a list size of 40k spread across a Luton. We work closely, collaboratively to deliver care to our patient population and are also committed to the education & development of staff. There are 3 training practices in the PCN team and therefore can offer comprehensive support to newly qualified GPs. Our practices work together with our team of clinical pharmacists, physician associates, physio, care coordinators, social prescribing link workers, and health and wellbeing coaches. At the start of the new financial year we shall be joined by another practice with 10k patients which will make eQuality PCN one of the largest in Luton. eQuality PCN was formed in 2022 and is a Primary Care Network (PCN) serving a population of circa 40k patients residing across Luton in Bedfordshire. The PCN strategy aligns with the needs of our patients, focussing on Health Inequality and the Integrated Neighbourhood Team model.
