This role supports the day-to-day financial management of the Terumo BCT Ltd. across two sites in Larne. Acting as a close business Partner to provide timely support, guidance, and business analytics to enable more rounded actions and to support continuous improvement and operations excellence across Operations, R&D, Commercial & Projects. Reporting to the Assistant Controller in Larne.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Accounting and Control
* Responsible for Sales reporting across the total legal entity working in tandem with Commercial in supporting the SIOP process. Also includes ownership of revenue recognition on projects across our R&D division.
* Support Payroll process, ensuring robust process controls within our current outsourced models. Ownership of accurate accounting of payroll within the monthly reporting cycle.
* Responsible for EC Sales & Intrastat submissions for legal entity.
* Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the accounting and financial reporting of the Terumo BCT Ltd. legal entity, including statutory financial reporting and audits thereof by Chartered Accountants and internal auditors.
* Support cross-functional efforts with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, HR and others to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the organization through LEAN processes and maximum utilization of data and software tools.
* Maintain relationships with colleagues in Terumo and explore and share best practices and work jointly on SAP system and other process improvements.
* Ownership of continuous development across finance, in particular supporting supply chain across vendor management, material master management & inventory reconciliation (in relation with projects) across two factories.
* Back-up/Ad-hoc support on Banking & AP management may be required during busy/holiday periods.
Financial Planning and Analysis
* Support R&D Projects in relation to contract manufacturing, ensuring robust controls are in place from cradle to grave of works, and mitigations are identified against margin erosion and costing assumptions are well understood by all stakeholders.
* Responsible for the distribution of the daily metrics of the site and support the Finance department in any ad-hoc business analytics.
* Manage the accounting treatment against projects across the company, ensuring compliance against IFRS 15, across the board.
* Support in the management & gathering of business analytics across Operations, supporting leaders in their drive to measure against standards across both financial and non-finance benchmarks, driving consensus cross-functionally.
* Support in creating rolling monthly forecasts of manufacturing plant variance, by building a cross-functional census to achieve a robust process and build forecast accuracy.
* Ensure cost center reviews are held timely and often with owners.
* Ownership of designated areas (inc. Sales, Inventory, Capital Expenditure) to ensure reporting deadlines on the monthly cycle are hit, in a compliant and documented manner to comply with statutory & internal standards.
* Support the Assistant Controller in the annual budget process for the factory operations and for supporting functions, including the development of product standard costs calculated following best practices and Terumo BCT policy.
* Business partner of Commercial Director to drive the reporting cycle across revenue & standard margin, using latest business analytics tools, such as Power BI.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supports special cross-functional projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
* ACCA, ACA, CIMA part qualified
Experience
* Minimum 4 years of experience in a financial role.
* Experience with financial management in a manufacturing &/or working knowledge on project accounting on long term contracts is preferred.
* Experience with financial statement preparation and related audits for statutory reporting highly preferred.
* Experience with SAP as an ERP system is preferable.
* A must/pre-requisite is superior excel modelling skills.
Skills
* Strong understanding and experience in general accounting of broad business transactions and their impacts to the manufacturing operations areas of the organization.
* Knowledge and experience of technical knowledge of the accounting requirements and practices generated by statutory or reporting standards.
* Proven ability to drive process change through an organization resulting in LEAN efficiency and effectiveness.
* Ability to professionally handle confidential material and associated issues.
* Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative team-oriented environment, especially with Operations leaders and colleagues within other Finance functions.
* Ability to independently set and accomplish objectives and set priorities in area of responsibility.
* Experience with SAP or similar ERP system in a manufacturing and financial setting strongly preferred.
* Knowledge and use of relevant Microsoft applications and skills to use them effectively (Excel, Power Point, Power BI).
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Chartered Accountant and/or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred, or an equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.
