Job Description
We are looking for a Level 2 qualified Maintenance Technician to join the team at our client's busy Distribution Centre in Wakefield. Supporting the wider engineering team you will be predominantly responsible for the schedule of planned maintenance of high volume picking machinery and ensuring that all maintenance service documents are kept up to date. In this role, you will be required to assist with managing external contractors and coach and mentor the more junior engineers on site. This is a physically demanding role and you will need to be confident working at height for which full training will be provided. Ideally, you will have experience working in a Distribution Centre but this is not essential.
Key responsibilities for a Maintenance Technician
1. Mechanically; Reading assembly drawings, stripping and re-assembling with hand tools.
2. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. CMMS use.
5. Adhere to Health & Safety Guidelines.
6. Willing to learn and adapt to role requirements.
7. Perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance.
8. Hands-on ownership of issues.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a Maintenance Technician
1. Level 2 Mechanical Engineering Qualification or equivalent.
2. Experience with fault finding, continuous improvements.
3. Confident with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
4. IOSH and knowledge of PROFINET, PROFIBUS would be an advantage.
Salary and Benefits of a Maintenance Technician
1. Salary: £39,180.
2. Rotating shift pattern:
0600 - 1415 - Monday - Friday
1400 - 2215 - Monday - Friday
2200 - 0615 - Monday - Friday
0600 - 1330 Sunday 1 in 3.
