DESCRIPTION
Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business makes sure we fulfill and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers get their items on time. As an Area Manager, you'll ensure your site runs smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that helps keep our operations safe, efficient, and of high quality while taking on various projects across our network to drive productivity.
Key job responsibilities
1. Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing.
2. Analyse and implement changes to maintain consistently high quality and productivity levels.
3. Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimise productivity, and increase quality of service for customers within your area of responsibility.
4. Analyse shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence.
5. Work collaboratively with management-level colleagues to standardise shift practices.
A day in the life
You'll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, ensuring it is as productive as possible. Your main focus will be to own and drive a culture of safety while upholding quality and shift performance standards. You'll oversee process improvements within your area and drive their implementation. A typical day is varied, including everything from routine team management and daily operational responsibilities to process improvement and wide-scale operational contingency tasks. You'll also be a role model and mentor to new managers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. A degree.
2. Relevant experience in people management.
3. Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
4. Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
5. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
2. Experience working in another logistics environment.
3. Relevant experience with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
