Your Role as a Welfare Officer: Ensure the safety and welfare of international students and staff, adhering to safeguarding policies Investigate incidents, manage emergencies, and prepare detailed reports as needed Build strong relationships with Group Leaders, addressing queries and providing professional support Manage accommodation issues, conduct room checks, and maintain high standards of service Performing the duties outlined in the Activity Leader Job Description as needed, including but not limited to arrivals and departures, meals, and night duties Supervising sick students on excursion days and assist with hospital visits when required What we are looking for: Strong interpersonal and organisational skills Ability to remain calm under pressure, especially in challenging situations or emergencies Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of a fast-paced environment aligning with the Campus Manager’s expectations Capability to handle tasks requiring frequent walking across campus facilities First Aid Certification (valid) or willingness to attend an organised First Aid at Work course in June Essential Requirements: Right to work in the UK Willingness to undergo a Police/Criminal Record Check (e.g., Enhanced DBS Check) Provide 2 referees (at later stage) Valid First Aid Certification prior to the start of employment Availability to attend induction training in June Availability to work full-time hours Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, as required Further Information: Running Dates: mid-June to mid-August (dependent on the centre) Centres for summer 2025: London Harrow | Epsom | Kingston | Uxbridge | Hatfield | Windsor | St Edmunds | Tonbridge | Bath | York | Loughborough | Ellesmere | Edinburgh | Stirling Contract Length: From 4 to 8 weeks (dependent on the centre) Working hours: Average of 48 hours per week, across six days Accommodation: Full board provided (accommodation and three meals daily) by PLUS Salary rate: £550 per week for 18 – 20 years of age £700 per week for 21 and over Holiday: Salary is inclusive of holiday entitlement; holidays cannot be taken during contracted period Why Join PLUS?
