Neonatal and Transitional Care Clinical Matron
We are currently looking to recruit to our existing NNU team and this is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and ambitious neonatal nurse to become an active part in our strong and experienced multi-disciplinary team. This is a key role to help us develop our services for the future and we are looking for individuals who are keen to work as part of our Senior Nursing Team to expand and develop the Neonatal Unit and Transitional Care.
Main duties of the job
This role will take the lead on quality, safety and patient experience across the specialty area: Neonatal inpatient & outpatient departments, Neonatal Outreach nurses and Transitional Care.
Contributing to the Quality Improvement Plan as well as contributing to the Care Group agenda and having a portfolio that reflects this as delegated by the Head of Nursing. The Clinical Matron will have responsibility for leading the RCHT Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals Vision for the specialty, ensuring effective implementation of service objectives within the available resources.
To enable them to execute this responsibility the post holder is expected to provide proactive and visible leadership. Leadership will span four key areas; service leadership, people and personal leadership, quality leadership and collaborative leadership.
To be able to resolve clinical issues quickly and effectively; to minimise any negative impact on the quality of patient care and to monitor safety within their areas of responsibility by reviewing and triangulating information derived from multiple metrics and advising the Care Group senior leadership team when issues are identified.
To develop the professional practice of the non-medical clinical workforce whilst working closely with the Learning and Development Department, enabling access to education and training programmes to ensure that they are fit to practice and have access to CPD.
