Sr. Program Manager, Sustainable Packaging, India Operations Integration
Amazon is looking for a Packaging expert with experience in driving end to end programs from research and development of packaging material, new pack design and implementation across different miles of the supply chain operations. This role involves driving sustainability initiatives within Amazon India packaging team while ensuring the packaging quality and customer experience is upheld. This person should have a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own and execute strategic, cross-functional operations and technology projects, preferably within ecommerce Supply Chain Operations. This role requires performing dive deeps to ambiguous problems, identifying and scoping large projects, managing project timelines, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. This role is located in Bangalore.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Own the roadmap for India Packaging sustainability initiatives that includes plastic reduction, carbon footprint reduction, and pack type design changes including idea conception, approvals with senior leadership, making data-based tradeoff decisions, and execution.
2. Act as the single point of contact for the operations team for any discussions pertaining to the program.
3. Implement large scale changes by collaborating with teams across Amazon India supply chain.
4. Work with external partners, where required, to improve sustainability.
5. Work with research institutes and academia in the pursuit of innovative and sustainable practices within packaging.
6. Perform dive deeps into the multiple elements that govern the decision-making behind the fulfilment fitment logic for every Amazon order, across all fulfilment channels.
7. Manage cross-functional project teams, planning and organizing, and executing complex projects across multiple organizations and stakeholders to enable the launch of new projects and processes.
8. Work closely with operations, finance category, and procurement teams to manage short-term commitments to overall goals and ensure they stay on track.
9. Benchmark our practices with the best in class (whether internal or external), and use it to own and influence the long-term vision, including upstream sourcing, vendor identification, and long-term strategic partnerships with vendors.
Qualification (Must Have)
- Bachelor's Degree in Packaging
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field
