As the Music Service Manager for North Yorkshire Council, you will work across the educational system in North Yorkshire, and beyond, to ensure the delivery of high-quality instrumental lessons and ensemble opportunities for pupils. You will work with partners including Lead Schools, York Music Hub and AMP (Amazing Musical Projects) to support both curricular and extracurricular musical activity across North Yorkshire and York. You will provide the strategic leadership and management of the Music Service, part of the Council’s Education and Skills portfolio, and will ensure the delivery of the Government’s National Plan for Music Education both for North Yorkshire and as Hub Lead Organisation for York As Music Service Manager you will be responsible for the: · Strategic responsibility for the Music service and York and North Yorkshire Music Hub. · Delivery of high-quality music lessons. · Budget setting, forecasting and monitoring the performance of the traded service (£1.7 million turnover) · Strategic leadership and management of the senior leadership team and teaching staff. · Promoting the music hub across York and North Yorkshire. · Partnership working. · Embedding a secure culture of safeguarding. About you The successful person will have specialist knowledge and substantial experience of effective strategic leadership and management within a similar or comparable context. You will be a determined and principled leader with a proven record of inspiring others with the skills and attributes to build a team that is committed to both our service ambition and the core values of North Yorkshire Council. As Music Service Manager you will: · Provide highly effective strategic leadership and management to the Music Service and wider Music Hub, · Take responsibility for the strategic direction of the Music Service, reporting to the Assistant Director Education and Skills. · Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation, collaboration, and high ambition · Ensure resources are allocated appropriately and efficiently for the benefit of the service · Ensure effective governance of the wider music hub as befits the Hub Lead Organisation. · Be committed to safeguarding children and young people Please refer to the job description and person specification for further information about the experience, skills, and attributes we are looking for.
