Who are we looking for?
We now have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer at the Ashby site. In this role, you will carry out a range of Quality Assurance related activities to ensure that products meet the required specifications. Work 'hands on' with site wide stakeholders like Production and Purchasing teams when conducting investigations in our manufacturing facility.
What will you be doing?
As Quality Engineer, you will support the Quality Manager with the creation of key quality documents, including FMEA's control plans and process flows, and ensure that these continue to be accurate and maintained. You shall conduct root cause analysis investigations for both internal non-conformances and customer complaints using tools such as 8D, Ishikawa/Fishbone, 5Why, leading small cross-functional teams, as appropriate. You shall also manage the implementation of corrective and preventive actions within the defined timescale. In addition, you shall:
* Support the Purchasing team with Supplier development and Supplier corrective actions;
* Conduct internal process and product audits;
* Support MSA and test method development and improvement;
* Regular collection of quality performance indicator input data to Support Corrective Actions Process in case of a low performance identified;
* Assist in maintaining the site's Quality accreditations.
In this role, you will be working in a laboratory environment and collaborating with our manufacturing teams within the facility.
Who are You?
Ideally you will have:
* Previous experience working in a Quality role;
* Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949);
* Problem solving techniques, such as 8D, Ishikawa/Fishbone, 5Why;
* Proven experience of Microsoft office or similar;
* Practical approach to work with the ability to set priorities and solve problems;
* Positive "can do" approach with good attention to detail;
* Lean and six sigma experience, being an IATF Auditor and automotive core tools training are desirable.
What competencies will you need?
To be successful in this role, you will need to be an effective communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills. In addition you will:
* Be highly organised and methodical;
* Demonstrate prioritisation and working to deadlines;
* Have a high degree of attention to detail;
* Have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team with a sense of urgency;
* Have the ability to record, manipulate and analyse data with a view to generating detailed reports.
