The Bristol design center is focused on optoelectronic ICs primarily targeted to datacoms and adjacent markets. Job Summary:
Searching for an experienced semiconductor Senior Automotive Reliability Engineer with direct experience, and a track record, of bringing automotive products through the NPI development process from definition to production release, including all quality, functional safety, and qualification-related analysis and documentation.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute Reliability qualification of new products, processes, and customer requests.
2. Analyse Reliability data and create formal reports.
3. Work with Design, Product, Test, and Failure Analysis engineering teams to understand Reliability qualification failures. Provide recommendations based on the results of cross-functional team assessments.
4. Predict product reliability levels and perform lifetime calculations based on various Reliability stress test results, ongoing reliability monitoring data, and failure mechanisms identified as a result of stress tests.
5. Work with Design and Test Engineering and external vendors to design and manufacture HTOL and HAST boards for use in Reliability qualifications.
6. Work with QA, Manufacturing Engineers, and Operations Team to assist in the disposition of manufacturing lots held due to issues that may affect product reliability.
7. Regularly review industry standards (i.e., JEDEC, AEC, ESDA, IPC, etc.) for new revisions that may impact the Reliability qualification stress conditions.
8. Respond to end customer requests for qualification data, FIT rates, and other product Reliability engineering-related data and inquiries.
9. Represent the team in various stages of New Product Introduction (NPI) – related meetings where Reliability engineering participation is required. Ensure successful delivery of Reliability commitments.
10. Prepare technical reports, summarise findings, and recommend solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and setup of specialized test equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Master’s degree and PhD in a related field would be an advantage.
2. At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor product Reliability Engineering. Specific experiences include drafting Reliability qualification plans/reports and performing field lifetime calculations.
3. Additional experience in the following engineering disciplines would be an advantage: Failure Analysis, Test/Product Engineering, Quality, Design/Validation/Characterization, Applications, and Wafer Fab.
4. Strong knowledge of industry standards such as JESD47, JEP122, JS-001/02, AEC-Q100/101/006, etc.
5. Strong knowledge of IC fabrication and Assembly/Test, semiconductor physics, BJT and MOSFET theories, and basic circuit configurations.
