Paint Specialist Position Overview
My client based in the Leamington Spa are currently looking for an experienced Paint Specialist to support them in their paint department.
Responsibilities include:
1. To ensure that, as a minimum, the Company`s Health and Safety and Environmental Standards are implemented.
2. To drive continuous improvement initiatives in the paint plants and associated areas as appropriate. Scope to include CapEx projects for efficiency, environmental, or new application materials or process.
3. To provide technical support and expertise to the Paint Plant to maximize quality, throughput and efficiencies.
4. To train paint plant personnel and others as necessary in best practice for paint application and produce associate documents, training materials and checklists as required.
5. To lead initiatives with other areas e.g. Moulding, R&D, Purchasing etc. in order to specify characteristics required for the effective application of paint onto different plastic substrates
6. To take the lead role as the Paint Application Champion for process and hardware and software specification, documenting Standard Operating Procedures for the paint plant and associated routine maintenance etc.
7. To specify standard processes/procedures that must be in place in Processes e.g. power wash, flaming, wet walls, inspection etc
8. Checking that the Paint Plant operate within our permits and validating that our countermeasures to ensure compliance to those permits are maintained and suitable records kept.
9. To provide support to the manufacturing, sales, technical, design and quality teams as required on paint matters and interface with customers as required.
10. To liaise with supplier's and engineering staff on paint, primer, robotics and other matters as required to improve performance.
11. To attend trade fairs, exhibitions etc. in order to keep abreast of innovations in paint application and bring these innovations into site.
12. To identify key operating characteristics that can be used for such as SPC and other statistical analyses.
13. To participate in audits if paint outsourcing is required to ensure quality performance is satisfactory.
14. To develop statistics and KPI`s to demonstrate quality, performance and other metrics associated with the paint plant.
Paint Specialist Position Requirements
15. Experience in a paint specialist role ideally in a automotive manufacturing environment
16. Have the knowledge and skills to be able to use paint techniques to paint different parts
17. Experience in quality and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment
Paint Specialist Position Remuneration
18. £40,000 - £45,000
