You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday- Friday, 08:00-17:30 and in return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of £55,650.00 per annum. The Assistant Depot Manager role: To oversee the daily work of the Customer Service, Transport & Warehouse Management teams ensuring all relevant resources are in place, legal requirements are met and a high quality service to customers is delivered. What you’ll be doing as our Assistant Depot Manager Oversee customer service, transport planning and warehouse functions and ensures a continuous and seamless quality service is provided to all customers, colleagues and suppliers Ensure cost-effective staffing levels are in place and planned for and appointed accordingly where further resources are required Ensure staff are aware of and adhere to service level targets and agreements, identifying any discrepancies, resolving complaints and ensuring an effective and efficient response to customer service is achieved Ensure robust systems for management of transport, warehouse and site operations food safety and health and safety are in place and adhered to consistently Ensure compliance and quality controls are in place, knowledge and responsibilities are appropriately shared, conformance is assessed, and any non-compliance is corrected on a timely basis and preventative action is taken and embedded Apply financial controls to ensure targets are achieved and resources are maximised Instigate formal employment procedures where required to ensure performance and overall service standards are achieved Regularly review staff performance and ensure appropriate development plans are in place to ensure staff competence and progression Ensure the development and ongoing promotion of the company’s quality culture Deputise where required and in partnership with management ensures appropriate cover for all teams is available and any issues are resolved on a timely basis and in accordance with company procedures What qualifications and experience are we looking for in our Assistant Depot Manager? CPC (National or International) Level 4 (or equivalent) in Management Sound awareness and application of transport or warehouse management and health and safety regulations Proven experience in a people management role IT literate in Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data What skills are we looking for in our Assistant Depot Manager? Ability to work to fluid deadlines and stringent targets Ability to support, motivate and coach staff to maximise individual and team performance Ability to use initiative and maximise resources to source effective solutions Additional requirements Work flexibly in accordance with operational requirements, to include participation in an on-call management rota If you don't have all of these skills and experience, please don't be put off applying.
