An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Clinical Support Assistant to join the Step up Hub Community Rehabilitation team working across the Sunderland and South Tyneside areas.
The post will involve working as part of a highly skilled Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) that supports service users with a high degree of clinical complexity, who may have required long inpatient stays to transition and remain living in the community. Providing high quality evidence based interventions in line with NICE clinical guidance to service users with a primary diagnosis of psychosis.
Clinical Support Assistants in the team assist in the delivery of care and treatment to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations under the direction and guidance of a registered practitioner.
An aspect of the role is to work alongside nursing colleagues, in the team's physical health pathway.
The role involves supporting the clinical members of the team to deliver evidence based treatment and to engage in collaborative working across the multi-agency team.
You will be provided with additional training and regular clinical supervision.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, under the direction of a registered practitioner.
2. To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.
3. To maintain electronic health records of any treatment interventions completed.
4. To work as a member of the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care.
5. To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
6. To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
* Experience of working with service users with mental health difficulties.
* Senior Healthcare Support Worker or equivalent or working towards.
* GCSE A-C in maths and English or equivalent.
* Experience or knowledge of Psychosis.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working/volunteering in an appropriate care setting.
* Experience of working with service users who have complex needs.
* Knowledge or Experience of substance/alcohol misuse.
* Previous experience in a community setting.
* Experience of involving service users/carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services.
Skills
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* ICT Functional skills.
* Ability to work without direct supervision.
* Ability to contribute to a learning environment.
* To have an MDT approach.
* Time Management.
Additional Requirements
* Ability to meet the mobility and geographical requirements of the post.
