Closing date : 30th March 2025 Hereford Municipal Charities is seeking a Finance and Administration Assistant About us Hereford Municipal Charities provides: Accommodation to residents over 65 years old The prevention or relief of poverty by way of a grant system supporting household and educational needs A key part of our work, is to provide a range of affordable housing to people of Hereford that are over 65 and in need of somewhere to live, in the form of the Almshouses. Almshouses are a charitable form of self-sufficient, low-cost community housing that is held in trust (currently 92 properties in Hereford City) for local people in housing need. Today, across the UK 1000’s of people are living full and independent lives in Almshouses, finding friendships, wellbeing, safety and security inside their walls. About the role and what we need from you This role will manage the administrative and financial aspects of the Trust. You will be a key point of contact within the Trust, acting as personal assistant to the Clerk, including managing their diary and assisting with financial matters, responding to correspondence on behalf of the Clerk and the Board and assisting Clerk with contributing to the production and content of the Trust’s newsletter. You will be expected to maintain and produce a range of information that is crucial to the management of the trust, this will include: Provision of data to accountants and information for the annual audit Provision of financial information to the Clerk and Trustees Maintain and monitor office supplies, ensuring value for money at all times Review spending and identify any ways of reducing expenditure as appropriate Monitor budgets and report into the Clerk As an effective administrator, you will have a strong attention to detail and an affiliation to figures and financial data.
