Brief Description
Safe delivery of all plant and on-track machine operations to the required timescales, quality and specification.
About the role (External)
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support and undertake on track plant operations. Liaise with machine controllers and plan operations supervisors, representatives and check machine output to present a good standard of work.
2. Undertake plant operations supervisors representative duties and responsibilities in accordance with the On-Track Plan Operations Scheme.
3. Supervise delivery and operations of plant and on-track plant inclusive of agreed delivery and storage arrangements.
4. Undertake machine Controller/Crane Controller duties as required.
5. Support site lifting activities and check schemes.
6. Check clearances for working height restrictions for operations under OLE and through structures.
7. Plan and undertake site inspections to identify preparatory work for plant and on-track plant operations. Preparatory work to be planned and carried out in liaison with Section Managers.
8. Direct and supervise staff or subcontract labour, deployed to assist with plant and on track plant operations.
9. Produce and process paper and electronic records of plant and on-track plant operations in accordance standards procedures.
10. Assist with other duties as directed by the On-Track Plant Specialist.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Competencies and Qualifications
1. Knowledge of types on On-Track civils plant.
2. Knowledge of plant operation supervisor duties and on track plant principles.
3. Experienced in on track plant working arrangements and planning.
4. Experience and knowledge in setting out for on track plant for adjacent line open working (ALO) and restricted height working under OLE.
5. Competent in tandem lifting activities.
6. Lift planner (single machine) competent.
7. Lift planner (tandem) competent.
8. LGV driving licence.
