About you British Cycling is seeking an experienced Finance Consultant to support a strategic review of our finance processes. This is a key short-term project role designed to help us improve efficiency, enhance reporting, and ensure our finance function is fully aligned with our organisational goals and future direction. We’re looking for someone who brings: Significant experience in finance consultancy, financial operations, or strategic finance roles Strong analytical skills and a solutions-focused mindset Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams Experience supporting finance transformation or change programmes (desirable) Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both finance and non-finance stakeholders What you’ll be doing Working closely with senior leaders and our finance team, you will: Analyse existing finance systems, workflows, and reporting structures Identify areas for improvement and propose practical, strategic solutions Support implementation planning for any recommended changes Provide expert insight and constructive challenge to help shape a future-fit finance function Play a key role in ensuring our finance operations can effectively support our wider ambitions as the national governing body for cycling Engagement details Estimated commitment: 2–3 days per week Initial 4–6 month contract – working on a project basis Day rate / project fee negotiable based on experience – outside of IR35 If you're a strategic, proactive finance professional who thrives on project work and making a tangible impact, we’d love to hear from you.
