Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead a dedicated team in our 50-bed care home in Wigan. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and skilled individual with a passion for elderly care and a strong track record in nursing management. As Nurse Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the care home, ensuring high standards of care are consistently maintained while fostering a positive, supportive environment for both staff and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of nursing and care staff, providing direction, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
• Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and maintain high standards of care and safety for all residents.
• Oversee the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring each resident’s physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
• Manage staffing levels to ensure safe and effective care delivery, including recruitment, training, and retention of staff.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records, including care plans, medication management, and health assessments.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance care quality and operational efficiency.
• Act as the main point of contact for residents’ families, addressing any concerns and ensuring excellent communication.
• Maintain financial oversight of the care home, including managing budgets, controlling costs, and improving occupancy rates.
• Lead the implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure a safe and supportive care environment.
Key Requirements:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC pin.
• Proven experience in a senior nursing role, preferably in a care home or elderly care setting.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of CQC guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team while maintaining a high level of resident care.
• Experience with care planning, medication management, and staff development.
• Sound financial management and budgeting skills.
• Passion for delivering high-quality care and improving the lives of residents.
Desirable Skills:
• Leadership or management qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 5 or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a Nurse Manager role.
• Experience with occupancy growth or business development within a care setting.
