The post holder will form part of a collective leadership model with a portfolio for the Specialist Surgery Clinical Care Group and will provide a focus on the nursing contribution to ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence. The Specialist Surgery Clinical Care Group encompasses a range of services, working across the three Acute Hospital Sites in NHS Tayside: Ninewells Hospital, Perth Royal Infirmary and Stracathro Regional Treatment Centre and works in a single system with secondary care colleagues, Health and Social Care Partnerships, Primary Care Services and other partner organisations to provide health care services. The Clinical Care Group Leadership Team actively engages in and supports collegiate working across the whole organisation with visible leadership and management of services on a Pan-Tayside basis to promote safe integrated patient pathways and efficient and effective use of resources. Within this context the post holder will lead on Nursing Care Governance, Standards of Practice and Professional Governance for all Registered and Unregistered Nurses within their portfolio. The Lead Nurse will ensure that nursing care recognises the uniqueness of the individual and their care needs, and ensure that nursing care is safe, contemporary, person centred and maximises the involvement of patients and carers of the individual. The post holder must be a Registered Nurse with post registration experience gained in a variety of nursing environments to a level of seniority commensurate with this post. Additionally, professional knowledge acquired through degree level education and supplemented by specialist training or experience and education to Masters Level with a formal qualification (or evidence of experiential learning commensurate with Masters level study) is required.
