Deputy Team Manager (UASC)
Location: L17 7BN
On-going contract: 37 hours, £44 per hour
We require an experienced Deputy Team Manager within our UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children) Service to effectively support the Team Manager and social work team. The candidate must have a proven track record as a Deputy Team Manager in Safeguarding/Permanence and be confident in the application of all legal proceedings and legal frameworks, with a robust understanding of young people’s whole journey through the care system.
Responsibilities include:
1. Promoting stable placements and implementing positive long-term change and improvements, supporting clear pathway planning.
2. Supporting a high-performance culture within the team, ensuring consistent good practice.
3. Actively supporting the Team Manager in decision making and chairing meetings.
4. Working in partnership with multi-agencies, particularly Housing, Health, and Education, to advocate for young people and secure access to necessary services.
5. Supporting recruitment, induction, training, and effective supervision of all team members, championing professional career development.
6. Acting as a Practice Educator.
Must be available to start within the next 3 weeks at £44ph (limited status). Initial 3-4 weeks will be full time on-site for induction and training, followed by at least 3 varied days per week on-site, so ideally candidates should live locally. Stable permanent management team with free parking on site.
