This is a brilliant opportunity for a commercially minded, client-facing tax professional seeking a varied role in compliance and advisory work, with clear scope to progress within a growing firm. The Role : As Tax Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the firm’s tax function across a mixed portfolio of clients. The role includes a balance of compliance review, tax planning, and advisory work, as well as staff supervision and client relationship management. You will work closely with the partners and have input into the strategic growth of the tax offering. Key Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients Review corporation tax returns, personal tax returns, and partnership tax computations Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services (e.g. IHT, CGT, business restructuring, SEIS/EIS, and R&D claims) Act as a key point of contact for client queries, offering practical and commercial solutions Manage HMRC correspondence, including enquiries and investigations Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, reviewing their work and supporting development Keep up to date with tax legislation and ensure compliance with regulatory changes Contribute to business development and support partners in identifying new opportunities Requirements: CTA qualified (or ACA/ACCA with a strong tax focus) Minimum 5 years’ UK practice experience in a mixed tax role Experience managing both corporate and personal tax compliance Strong technical knowledge across UK tax legislation Confident communicator with excellent client relationship skills Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop junior staff Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team Familiar with cloud-based tax and accounting systems (e.g. CCH, IRIS, Xero)
