Type: Permanent, term time (39.6 weeks per year)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £21,984 - £22,701 per annum + benefits

Royal School Manchester at Seashell is a non-maintained special day and residential school for children and young people aged 2 to 19 with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders and autism.
Our highly skilled team of teaching and support staff include specialist teachers and TAs who work closely with a full team of therapists and our residential care services to deliver high quality personalised learning and support based on the needs and preferences of the student.
Role Outline
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work with our amazing students across EYFS / secondary / post 16 areas and will be an essential part of the team assisting the class teacher and wider team in delivering lessons and supporting students.
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant you can expect to…
* Support an individual class Teacher in preparing individual programmes and learning materials appropriate to the needs of the learners
* Prepare the classroom, activities and resources for lessons
* Support the class Teacher with the co-ordination and planning of staff
* Support the delivery of individual student programmes and learning interventions
* Encourage and support good classroom behaviour and supervision of children in the classroom, during structured activities and off-site activities
* Understand the communication and support needs of individual students to enable and facilitate their learning
* Support students during lunchtime and break times to ensure children are safe and happy
* Support off-site activities as needed such as trips or forest school
* Support and record the amazing progress of our children
* Communicate daily with colleagues, parents and transport providers to give clear and detailed updates on all aspects of the students at drop off and pick up
What you need to do the role…
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification
* Ability and commitment to work as part of a supportive and cohesive team
* Ability to contribute, follow and evaluate educational programmes set by the teacher
* Ability to co-ordinate, supervise and support staff activities
* Experience working within a SEND educational setting preferred
* Excellent communication and written skills
* Energetic and enthusiastic about SEND education and making a difference to the lives of our children
* Enhanced DBS check, references and occupational health checks
