We are seeking a skilled and experienced TIG Welder to join our client based in Rugby. As a TIG Welder, you will be responsible for carrying out precision welding tasks, working with a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel. You will be involved in fabricating and assembling components, ensuring high-quality finishes and meeting exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform TIG welding on various metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
2. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
3. Ensure weld quality meets the required standards and carry out visual inspections of completed work.
4. Set up and operate welding machines and associated equipment.
5. Maintain equipment in good working order, performing routine maintenance as required.
6. Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
7. Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
8. Report any issues or defects in materials or equipment to supervisors.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a TIG Welder, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
3. Proficient in TIG welding techniques with a strong attention to detail.
4. Experience working with stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
5. Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to welding and fabrication processes.
Desirable:
1. Certification in welding (C&G, NVQ, or equivalent).
2. Experience with MIG and/or arc welding.
3. Forklift licence or experience operating workshop machinery.
