And measure your progress in milliseconds... And play your part in racing history... You belong here. High performance starts with you.
Purpose of the Role
This role will report into the Head of Brake Performance, and work in close collaboration with the Tyre team to develop common model and approach.
1. To model brake performance, correlating simulations to track and test data, and looking to make correlation improvement
2. To analyse and understand the impact of brake performance on overall vehicle performance
3. To use tyre & brake understanding to drive car development to optimise performance
4. To clearly and concisely communicate tyre & brake understanding to Vehicle Performance, Race Engineering and the wider Engineering Department, to drive awareness & performance driving decisions
5. To continuously develop methods and processes to increase modelling efficiency and capability
Principal Accountabilities
6. Innovate, proposing and developing new ideas & concepts.
7. Identify actionable performance development opportunities.
8. Develop industry-leading tyre & brake simulation tools and analysis methods and support their use.
9. Working with APG and Tyre teams, prepare & conduct pre-event and season scans for optimal brake duct solutions for race events
10. Correlate tyre & brake models & simulations against track and test data.
11. Generate clear and well-documented code.
12. Provide technical assistance to the broader team.
13. Produce and communicate insightful, high-quality brake and tyre analysis in challenging timeframes.
14. Make a significant contribution to the level of tyre & brake understanding within the team.
15. Occasionally support trackside operations in real time from Mission Control.
16. Support the Head of Brake Performance and Head of Tyres in maintaining delivery across the Group.
