Job Description:
Job Duties:
1. Provide 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a classroom setting
2. Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
3. Support students in their academic and social development
4. Help with classroom management and behaviour support
5. Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
6. Previous experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
8. Ability to work effectively in a team
Education:
9. Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
10. Relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable
Experience:
11. Experience working in a classroom setting with special educational needs students
Knowledge and Skills:
12. Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its impact on learning
13. Ability to adapt and tailor support to individual student needs
14. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
15. Certificate or diploma in special educational needs (SEN)
16. First aid training
