An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Band 7 team Leader to manage and lead the School Nursing team within Pembrokeshire.
Applicants must have the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
We are looking for an experienced and well-motivated Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) School Nurse (SN) with their qualification registered on Part 3 of the NMC register. They must have current post registration experience of working in a School Nursing team. There is a minimum requirement for a highly flexible and enthusiastic approach to this challenging, demanding and rewarding role.
The post is permanent 15 hours per week based within Pembrokeshire.
The successful candidate will be given a period of induction and preceptorship along with ongoing support and supervision.
Main duties of the job
To provide strategic and professional leadership to School Nurses and develop the service in line with national objectives and ensuring evidence-based care is delivered, whilst managing the service on a day-to-day basis. You will strive to deliver a high standard cost effective, safe, individualised service to children and young people aged 5 - 18. This will be achieved through health promotion and support for the physical, emotional and social health of children and young people.
You will work in collaboration with Public Health Colleagues and Local Authority. This is an exciting time to be involved in School Nursing as Welsh Government are working towards implementing the Healthy Child Wales Programme 2.
You will deliver a service in line with Health Board guidelines, policies, and procedures.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
