Corporate Services Audit Manager vacancy - based in Northamptonshire, NN15
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced professional to manage and oversee a portfolio of clients within our clients Corporate Services department, with a particular focus on our leading Not-for-Profit specialism. This role involves delivering high-quality, cost-effective services to clients, enhancing their experience while driving productivity for the firm.
In addition to client management, you will play a key role in practice development, particularly in audit, accounts preparation, and outsourcing for corporate and NFP clients. Success in this position will require fostering strong internal and external relationships, delivering projects effectively, and mentoring team members to build a motivated, sustainable, and high-performing team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Deliver exceptional service to clients, including those in the Not-for-Profit (NFP) sector, ensuring work is completed efficiently, cost-effectively, and within agreed timelines.
2. Respond promptly to client queries and liaise with third parties, such as HMRC, to resolve issues.
3. Support team growth and efficiency by taking on advanced tasks from partners and delegating routine work to junior staff, fostering development and training within the team.
4. Build a comprehensive understanding of clients and their businesses to become the primary contact for day-to-day matters.
5. Review and finalise audit files, accounts, and corporation tax work prepared by junior staff, with a focus on strengthening NFP expertise across the team.
6. Conduct staff appraisals, providing constructive feedback and identifying training opportunities to enhance performance and skills.
7. Identify business opportunities and support partners in delivering value-added services, such as business planning, advisory, and audit-related assignments.
8. Assist partners in managing work-in-progress (WIP) by ensuring tasks are completed and billed promptly, while keeping partners informed about progress.
9. Monitor deadlines for key deliverables, such as Companies House filings, group reporting, P11Ds, and tax returns, ensuring timely completion.
10. Plan, coordinate, and oversee work progression, maintaining high levels of efficiency and cost-effectiveness, while supervising and mentoring staff as needed.
Person Specification:
1. Ability to review and complete audit and accounts files quickly and efficiently.
2. Strong computer literacy.
3. Strong active listening skills.
4. Excellent problem resolution skills and ideas generation ability.
5. Strong marketing, networking, and business development skills.
6. Pro-active management skills, resulting in high performance teams.
Critical Knowledge Required:
1. In depth knowledge of audit and accounts preparation preferably NFP.
2. Corporate taxation knowledge.
3. Solid MS Office products knowledge.
Qualifications Required
Essential:
1. ACA or ACCA Qualification or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of 4 years post Qualification proven experience within an audit practice environment.
3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing staff within a practice environment.
Desirable:
1. FCA or FCCA.
2. Experience within a larger practice.
