Details:
1. Complete the accurate & timely receipt of goods & materials from suppliers using company procedures & systems
2. Carry out basic visual checks of received goods to ensure that they match purchase orders and supporting drawings and specifications and are of suitable quality, asking for support from Engineering when needed
3. Inform Supply Chain Manager immediately of any inaccurate or unacceptable deliveries
4. Ensure that stock is kept in the correct locations and suitable condition, whilst undertaking regular stock counting
5. Pick, issue & allocate parts, materials and consumables to STR employees, jobs and projects as required, while maintaining accurate records of stock movements within the business
6. Accurately handle manifest & delivery advice notes to aid stock transactions/movements between STR locations
7. Support Supply Chain Manager in the identification, ordering & replenishment of parts & materials
8. Communicate any stores issues to the Supply Chain Manager &/or Production Manager as appropriate
9. Ensure that stores are kept clean, tidy, organised & access to stores area by other members of staff controlled at all times
10. Loading & unloading deliveries (with & without forklift truck) and correctly & accurately accounting for items
11. Drive company vehicles to make deliveries/collections to & from other parts of the STR Group, suppliers & customers, ensuring that chosen routes are the most fuel & time efficient
12. Running company related errands as required
13. Remain flexible within your work environment with regard to working in other areas of the business that fit within your skill sets & as requested by your line Manager
14. Ensure that companywide policies & procedures are adhered to wherever and whenever appropriate
15. Work in a professional manner at all times, regardless of the task set & be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department & STR
Desired Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
* Good levels of numeracy and literacy (GCSE grade C / 4 or equivalent)
* Current UK Driving License or license valid within the UK
* Forklift License – will be required as part of duties - Beneficial, but not essential as STR will provide training.
Job Knowledge and Experience:
* Previous experience within a warehouse / goods receiving / stock control environment
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages
* Experience of, and familiarity with, stock control systems and databases
Personal Skills / Competencies:
* Attention to detail – receiving inspectors need a good eye for detail to spot inaccuracies and poor quality in all incoming and outgoing shipment items
* Data entry – as receiving person, enter information into digital systems, some data entry skills are required for this job.
* Physical stamina – receiving person needs the ability to carry out manual handling tasks, be on their feet for prolonged periods, and be able to physically maneuver stock on and off shelving within the stores area.
* Computer skills – good level of computer literacy to enter information into digital systems and work with Microsoft programs and other software to complete daily job tasks.
* Communication skills – possess good verbal and written communication skills to create inventory reports, direct shipment placement, and liaise with other staff members and external contacts.
* Personal Skills – organised, good communication skills & ability to form positive working relationships with colleagues within the business & external suppliers
