About the Role:
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Junior Hardware Engineer to join our small, dedicated team. You will play a key role in refurbishing laptops, assembling IT hardware, and maintaining hardware systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills in a practical environment, working closely with experienced engineers and contributing to delivering high-quality IT solutions. A valid driver’s license is essential, as the role may involve occasional travel to client sites or between locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the refurbishment of laptops, including diagnosing hardware faults, repairing, or replacing components, and performing thorough testing.
Support the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of IT hardware systems.
Ensure all refurbished equipment meets quality standards before deployment.
Collaborate with team members to organise and maintain the hardware inventory.
Provide occasional on-site technical support for hardware installations or repairs.
Document processes, repair procedures, and maintain accurate records of work completed.
Stay up-to-date with the latest hardware trends and troubleshooting techniques.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Relevant technical qualifications or certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL, or equivalent) are desirable but not required; hands-on experience is highly valued.
Basic understanding of laptop hardware and IT systems, including motherboards, memory, processors, and storage devices.
Skills and Attributes:
Hands-on experience with hardware repair or refurbishment is a strong advantage.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues efficiently.
Familiarity with operating system installation and configuration is a plus (e.g., Windows, Linux).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel occasionally as part of the role.
