Summary
We are looking for an organised, efficient, and confident individual to join our dynamic organisation in a Payroll Assistant role. The successful candidate will join our small Payroll team, reporting directly to our Payroll Manager. The applicant will assist with payroll tasks and will be provided with training and opportunities to develop their payroll knowledge and experience.
Our organisation employs over 460 people and has over 60 years’ experience delivering high-quality environmental and civil engineering solutions safely for a diverse range of projects and clients. Our flat management structure fosters a flexible environment where self-motivated, practical problem solvers thrive. Working in a small team provides exposure to various matters, supporting professional growth in a collaborative environment.
Role Responsibilities
* Assist in accurately processing weekly and monthly payrolls for 460 employees.
* Update payroll records with changes in employee details, deductions, contract transfers, and wage/salary adjustments.
* Resolve payroll discrepancies by analyzing data.
* Serve as a point of contact for payroll queries from employees.
* Maintain payroll operations by following policies and reporting necessary changes.
* Protect confidentiality of payroll information.
* Assist with statutory returns to HMRC.
* Maintain company vehicle information.
* Stay updated with payroll legislation and HMRC guidelines.
* Perform other duties as appropriate for the role.
