Are you passionate about ensuring that children and young people are safeguarded? We are currently recruiting for the statutory Safeguarding Children in Education post for Nottinghamshire. This is a key post that provides leadership, guidance, and support to the education sector and those Local Authority staff who work in education settings. You will develop and promote high-quality safeguarding policy and practice, coordinate training events for Designated Safeguarding Leads and Governors, and work closely with the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children's Partnership, the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub, and the Local Authority Designated Officer.
You will need knowledge and experience of education, safeguarding legislation, and local authority responsibilities. You will need the knowledge to support education settings and the confidence to challenge where necessary. Accurate record-keeping and quality report writing skills are essential. This is a hybrid post but will require you to attend meetings across the County and participate in regional and national networks. This will be a very busy, challenging, but rewarding post which will allow you to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.
Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation. Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
