Job Description
Build your in-house legal career within the highly-respected team of a global services and logistics business in the City. Learn from a brilliant General Counsel and work closely with business stakeholders to further the organisation's growth and expand your own skill set.
About the Company:
An international market leader in the maritime services space, with private-equity ownership and an operational presence across over 100 countries. The organisation has a fantastic leadership team, ambitious continued growth plans and an upcoming acquisitive streak that will augment its global presence further.
About the Role:
A Legal Counsel role working closely with Senior Legal Counsels and the Group General Counsel in a compact and hugely influential team. With a team of Paralegals to support, the role will entail negotiating and reviewing a host of complex commercial agreements with clients, suppliers, service providers and other third parties. You will also support on M&A transactions that may occur, manage various corporate governance matters and advise across the business on legal compliance, KYC and general commercial situations. Operating within a hybrid working model (three days in the London office), you will build relationships with varied internal stakeholders, including ops, compliance and procurement teams, all the while growing your career in a progressive, nurturing and high-performance environment.
Who You Are:
This broad opportunity will suit a commercial lawyer qualified in England & Wales or another major common law jurisdiction (as long as applicants have UK experience), who has significant commercial contracts experience in an international environment. The hiring manager is open to profiles from both private practice and in-house, as long as candidates have the commercial skills to navigate the varied challenges the role will present. Any exposure to legal compliance and/or corporate transactional work would be welcome, but is not a prerequisite for the role. While the role targets lawyers at 2-4 PQE as a guide, the hiring manager is happy to consider more or less experienced candidates with relevant experience. The business is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented commercial lawyer to progress towards Senior Legal Counsel within a clear career progression plan. You will be rewarded with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, alongside an immersive learning opportunity.
