You will provide Specialist Occupational Health Advice to the Police, by establishing Police Officers, Specials, Police Staff and Volunteers fitness for work.
Key duties:
Provide Occupational Health Advisory services to Thames Valley staff, triaging management referrals and determining the most suitable appointment type.
Advise on fitness for roles (including JRFT & PST) in line with employment legislation, attending meetings with individuals, line management, and HR when necessary.
Conduct health assessments for staff and officers, providing guidance on fitness and adjustments to roles, and attending Adjusted Duties Categorisation Meetings.
Provide clinical advice on Limited Duties and assist in categorisation grading based on clinical opinion.
Advise on pre-placement health screening for Police Officers, Support Staff, and Volunteers to ensure fitness for work.
Offer consultancy on medical issues, infectious diseases, and health education/promotion within the Force.
Carry out health screenings, administer vaccines, take blood samples, and contribute to policy and procedure development while maintaining professional development in line with NMC revalidation.
Key requirements:
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health Nursing.
Driving Licence may be required
Proven knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Recent experience within an Occupational Health environment with proven emotional and psychological resilience
Proven ability to work on own initiative and prioritise with excellent time management skills.
Proven ability to communicate information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Proven ability to maintain information in a confidential manner as well as having integrity to ensure any information given is kept confidentially
Willing to attend and put into practice, safe workforce training and attend briefings
