We are looking for skilled and enthusiastic Band 5 nurses both experienced and newly qualified to join our dedicated teams. We are looking for nurses who are compassionate and also have the ability to advocate a forward thinking approach which ensures the service users we care for have a strong voice in their care and treatment. The Mount is a mental health unit based in Leeds City Centre. It comprises of 4 wards dedicated to the provision of acute inpatient care, support and treatment for older people with dementia and acute mental health needs.
Main duties of the job
We are committed to improving service provision, and actively engaging staff in developing new initiatives and standards of care. You will be encouraged to develop creative ideas that support service users, carers, fellow professionals and the service as a whole. The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. Job responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for efficiently co-ordinating and managing day to day care on the ward. You will be a confident role model, providing leadership to a team of support workers and other junior colleagues and students. You will work with service users, families and other carers to assess service user need, develop care plans and implement planned interventions. You must be able to adapt your approach to fit the needs of the individual and be able adjust your routines to the varying tempo of the activities and daily business of the ward.
As a Nurse joining our Older Peoples inpatient Service you will have an intrinsic role within the multi-disciplinary team and have a responsibility to contribute to the effective running of the service and future service development. A flexible, innovative and creative approach to care and a commitment to working with & supporting different disciplines as a member of the MDT are essential. The Mount provides a learning environment for students of all disciplines. The post holder should have an enthusiastic and positive attitude towards learners and their development and equally a commitment to their own professional development.
