Job Title: Land SurveyorLocation: WatfordStart Date: ASAPDuration: 7 monthsWork Pattern: 5 days on siteRate: £350 Outside IR35About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Land Surveyor to join the team working on the prestigious HS2 project. This role is with a Tier 1 Joint Venture, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in earthworks and hold a degree in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying.Leading a team of one or more Surveyors in carrying out surveying activities.Supervising and instructing survey related personnel to ensure quality, timely and safe work practices.Carrying out, through the team all engineering survey requirements in line with procedures and management planCarrying out control network observations and adjustments and assist the Senior in designing the layout for longevity and best geometryCarry out infrastructure setting out to design and ensure QA of S/C setting outConvert and create earthwork designs for upload to machine controlled plant and ensure machines are working to correct designsCarry out drone surveys to track site progress and enable calculations against earthwork designsCarrying out laser scanning and other industry leading Engineering surveying techniques.Ensuring best safe practices during all survey-based operations, liaise with the site-based construction and safety staff.Accurately and reliably produce survey data to present to production and design teams including other stakeholders as required.Effectively managing a team in line with the Project strategy.Ensuring the safe execution of the work at all times.Fulfilling Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the Companys Health & Safety Policy and Management Plans.Complying with all Companys Policies and Procedures.Undertaking other such reasonable duties appropriate to the role. About you:A degree or equivalent qualification in Land/Engineering Survey or Geomatics and / or relevant work experience which demonstrates applied knowledge of Engineering survey procedures.Demonstrable experience in a similar role.Up to date knowledge of Engineering surveying techniques.Experience in leading a team of Surveyors and Junior/Graduate SurveyorsExperienced in measurement and coordination of large-scale survey networksExperience in working with design alignments, 3D design models, positioning control systems, laser scan capture and processing methodologies for design analysis and As-built reporting.Experience in management of earthworks and machine controlled plantA self-sufficient and motivated individual who can build relationships, develop strategy, and establish processes for surveyingKnowledge of HS2Grid or similar grid systems preferably including translation between grid systems.Computer skills across the whole Microsoft Office suite.Experience in survey data processing through various software suitesExperience in control network adjustmentsExperience in Laser scan processing proceduresExperience in earthworks and 3D Machine controlPfCO qualified with UAV experience and knowledge of ground control requirements (desirable)CSCS Card holder.SSSTS/SMSTS (Desirable)
