About The Role
UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE
+ make a difference for every patient
Due to the ever-increasing number of treatments and care we are offering, our very active outpatients’ department has additional requirements for Healthcare Assistants to join and be part of our focused, friendly, professional and supportive Outpatients’ team, based at our Emersons Green hospital Bristol.
What would you say are the primary responsibilities of a Healthcare Assistant working in an outpatients’ department?
As a knowledgeable Healthcare Assistant, what extended healthcare skills would you say you have?
Would you like the chance to play your role as part of a committed and focused team?
The Healthcare Assistants will be hands-on, supporting Doctors, registered Nurses and other professional staff.
We have two permanent positions available.
Shift patterns will be from Monday to Saturday:
* Early – 07:00 to 15:00
* Late – 13:00 to 21:00
What you'll be doing
As one of our Healthcare Assistants in our Outpatients’ department, you will be ensuring that our patients receive a high standard of care by carrying out routine patient monitoring and care duties relevant to each individual patient.
You will be expected to have gained up-to-date knowledge of your patient by investigating the patient pathway. You’ll need to competently and accurately update patient records, ensuring the patient pathway is being followed and documented.
You will make sure your patients are prepared and ready for any treatments or surgery booked and ensure all necessary checks are conducted prior to a treatment or surgery taking place.
It will be a requirement for the appointed Healthcare Assistants to perform phlebotomy when required, perform ECGs, run their own clinic on occasions, and they will receive a full induction, training, and support.
As the Healthcare Assistant, you will be conscious of health, safety, and hygiene aspects in a department. Not only will you look to ensure the department is clean, but you will also monitor and look for potential hazards, ensuring they are made safe or the issue is quickly brought to the attention of the Department Manager.
What we’ll look for in you
You‘ll be an effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal. You will be liaising with different departments, internal and external, face to face, via email, or over the phone. You will, of course, be communicating with your patients as well as their family, friends, or carers.
We are looking for an individual who is friendly, polite, and has a genuine caring nature, who enjoys working as part of a great team and playing your part in making it even greater!
You will be computer literate and willing to undertake training in local computer systems.
Everything we do is focused on providing a high standard of safe and effective patient care. When you’re part of the Practice Plus Group team, you don’t just have a job; you have a career!
