They have an opportunity for a Lab Technician to join its analysis team – this a great opportunity for a chemistry graduate to gain industry experience, or a more experienced profile to further hone their laboratory skills. Due to the location of this company, you must have your own vehicle to get to site. Role Overview The Laboratory Technician plays a key role in supporting the analysis, development, and release of bespoke, high-performance products for the specialty chemicals market. These products cater to industries including downstream oil majors, automotive, aerospace, and motorsport. This position requires a commitment to delivering exceptional quality, adhering to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, and optimizing efficiency to meet business goals. Key Responsibilities Perform analysis of fuel, components, pilot samples, and water samples with accuracy and consistency. Calibrate and standardize laboratory equipment in alignment with the Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS). Independently blend a wide range of laboratory fuel blends and prepare additive solutions. Collaborate closely with the Laboratory Supervisor to maintain the highest level of analytical quality. Actively support the Laboratory Quality Management System by identifying non-conformities, suggesting improvements, and addressing out-of-spec results. Prepare Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) in accordance with relevant legislation and business timelines, if required. Oversee operational aspects of the ICP-MS project when applicable. Qualifications and Experience Education: A degree in Chemistry or an equivalent scientific field (preferred). Experience: Prior laboratory experience is desirable, particularly within a fuels laboratory or a related testing environment. Familiarity with fuel laboratory tests and techniques is an advantage. Performance Measurement Criteria Efficiency and accuracy in completing analyses, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines. Achievement of high-quality outputs, meeting or exceeding "right first time" criteria. Proactive identification of non-conformities and implementation of improvements. Collaboration with the Laboratory Supervisor to maintain rapid turnarounds and deliver exceptional service to customers.
