Role Overview Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will oversee a 24-5 operation, leading a team of 20 supervisors and operatives in a complex chemical blending and batch processing plant. This role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence and foster a high-performance culture. Key Responsibilities People Management: Lead, develop, and motivate a team of 20 production staff. Plan and allocate manpower, including temporary labour, to meet production demands. Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient production of chemical products, meeting quality and customer lead-time requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma principles. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) at plant and operational levels. Safety & Compliance: Maintain adherence to health, safety, and environmental (EHS) standards. Develop a strong safety culture within manufacturing and warehouse areas. Project Support: Contribute to project management, including PSM, equipment, quality, and logistics. Prepare capital expenditure proposals and participate in customer audits. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure high availability of production equipment in collaboration with the maintenance team. What We’re Looking For 5 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably in the chemical, or related process/manufacturing industry. Proven ability to manage teams effectively and drive performance under pressure. Expertise in continuous improvement practices (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma certification advantageous). Strong technical understanding of production KPIs and process optimisation. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
