The Information Compliance Officer will assist the Information Compliance Manager in supporting the University to comply with Data Protection legislation, Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and will contribute to the operation and development of Records Management practices across the University
You will be part of a cohesive and high performing team of professional and support staff, responding to requests for information made under Data Protection and FOI legislation and managing other enquiries relating to information rights such as Subject Access Requests.
You will contribute to an increase in good records and information management practices across the University and will provide professional advice and guidance on information compliance matters to colleagues across the University.
Candidates interested in this role will have experience of working in the field of Data Protection, Freedom of Information/Environmental Information Regulations and records management within a complex environment. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate experience of interpreting and applying statutory requirements and regulatory guidance to information compliance matters in order to provide guidance and advice as well as knowledge of Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act, Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations, Data Protection legislation including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act. Excellent communication, analytical and influencing skills aligned to GCU’s values are required.
