You will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the store. With a hands-on, practical, and pragmatic approach to your work, you will have the ability to deliver consistently high store standards in an outstanding customer service environment.
Supporting the Store Manager, you will be a resilient and self-motivated retailer, comfortable working on the shop floor in a fast-paced environment, able to adapt and react to change and trading pressure with energy and enthusiasm. Your commercial savvy and ambition to drive sales, exceed targets and protect profit will be complemented by a caring approach, close attention to detail, and excellent planning skills. You will also be a natural team leader helping the Store Manager to motivate and develop a brilliant toy shop team.
Ideally, you will live no further than 45-60 minutes away from your base Entertainer store and be committed to working flexible shift patterns to support your store’s operation as required.
Your duties and key responsibilities as our Assistant Manager will include:
* To manage and lead the store team in your Manager's absence including times when the Store Manager is on site visits to a designated Tesco Concession store.
* Ensure that all team members aspire to and deliver outstanding customer service, always leading by example.
* Monitor and maintain excellent store standards, sales performance and presentation of your team.
* To help manage the performance of your team including the annual review process, company disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance improvement plans and counselling procedures.

We’re looking for our Assistant Managers to be:
* A great team leader with experience of supervising or managing a team.
* Great communication skills, with confidence in engaging with people at all levels through the business.
* Experience in interpreting reports and data to react quickly and commercially.
* A minimum of 12 months supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail environment is essential.
