About the opportunity
Airbus has an opportunity for a qualified Aircraft Surface Finisher / Aircraft Painter to join our professional and experienced Maintenance team in Edinburgh, SA. This role is a new position that has become available due to the expansion of the support in the P-8 Through Life Support Contract at RAAF Base Edinburgh.
About the role
As an Aircraft Surface Finisher / Aircraft Painter within the Airbus Maintenance Function, your skills, experience and knowledge will be utilised to undertake aviation surface finishing activities to meet the needs of Airbus Australia Pacific and their customers. The Aircraft Surface Finisher will work as part of the Off Aircraft Maintenance Team in providing aerospace painting services of both composite and metallic components.
Working as a member of the off-aircraft maintenance team, you will execute maintenance within the bounds of the authority level delegated by the relevant Responsible Manager. Working within the relevant Maintenance Organisation Function, you are required to conduct maintenance in accordance with the relevant regulations, Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) (or equivalent) and all other maintenance procedures as laid out within authorised Airbus procedures, relevant aircraft maintenance manuals and Defence documentation.

The skills and experience best suited to this role:
* Trade Qualification in Painting / Surface Finishing (Certificate 3 Aircraft Surface Finisher as a minimum)
* Experience in painting helicopters and/or fixed wing aircraft.
* Experience in painting composite and metallic aircraft and components
* Good hand skills with materials and hand tools.
* Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and drawings
* Good written and verbal communication skills
