Quantity Surveyor, South-West London A medium sized, full-service construction consultancy, based in leafy South-West London, is looking for a consultancy Quantity Surveyor to join its team of cost managers and project managers. Projects are diverse and interesting, with a focus on high-end hotels and hospitality – including Members Clubs – and heritage buildings such as stately homes and museums. Many other sectors are covered less frequently. This well-established consultancy specialises in development management, project management, cost management, building surveying, and principal designer services. The Quantity Surveyor’s Role The successful Quantity Surveyor will work on multiple projects simultaneously, in close coordination with the project managers and clients. Cost planning throughout RIBA stages, including producing feasibility estimates. Lead on procurement including tender preparation and reporting. Prepare and present monthly cost reports ensuring information is complete and accurate. Review and certify monthly valuations including processing payments / invoices. Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts e.g. interim / final applications for payment / final accounts /payments etc. Carry out final account negotiations. Lead and report to the Project Manager on commercial disputes. Provide support to the Project Manager on all commercial matters. Provide advice and recommendation on procurement approach. Contribute to and attend financial and progress meetings with Clients, Contractors etc. The Quantity Surveyor BSc degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent. Experience in a construction consultancy. Project Management experience is highly preferable. Organised with excellent time management skills. Personable and able to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues. Able to integrate well into a team, as well as work autonomously with minimal supervision.
