Commercial Manager – Glasgow & Edinburgh An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to join a dynamic and high-performing commercial team. This role is based at Shields Depot, Glasgow, with additional project management responsibilities in Edinburgh. The Commercial Manager will take ownership of train and depot maintenance contracts, ensuring operational and commercial excellence. Key Responsibilities: Contract Management & Negotiation – Oversee contract fulfilment, negotiate disputes, and ensure the best commercial outcomes. Financial Oversight – Prepare and analyze Variation Proposals, manage financial statements, and oversee forecasts and budgets. Stakeholder & Correspondence Management – Handle communications with customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual processes. Risk & Opportunity Management – Identify risks and opportunities, driving mitigation strategies within the project team. Process & Productivity Improvement – Work closely with project managers to enhance financial and operational processes. Innovation & Digitisation – Lead digital transformation initiatives within the commercial function. Candidate Requirements: Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent). 5-10 years of experience in a finance and commercial role. Experience managing 2-3 team members. Prior experience in contract negotiation and financial management. Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP systems).
